UMPC a non-starter?
by jaydro
A while back Nick posted about his search for a laptop replacement, enthusing over the possibilities of the recently-announced UMPC. Still thinking about that UMPC, Nick? Here's David Pogue's NY Times review:
A Big Question Unanswered by a Tiny PC
and the somewhat scary follow-up:
Microsoft’s Sinking UMPC Ship
(NY Times registration required, I assume, sorry. And I hope those links work for a while....)

Thanks for that, Jay. Wondered what was happening on that front.
It aims to bridge the size gulf between a palmtop and a laptop, but winds up inheriting the worst aspects of each.
Ouch.
Looks like I might have to go over to the light side. An iBook is looking mighty tempting right now.
Anyone think that might be a bad idea?
By the way, Brian; how do you link your articles so that you can see a larger piece if one presses |link|?
Wait,
I found it.
Yeah, that's what I did, except for adding the "Read More" line to the template. If I did that, it would have the "Read More" at the end of every post, regardless of whether there was more to read. So instead I just take it upon myself to add a line in my post saying to Click Link.
Works well enough. I look forward to reading your very long piece.
