The Deja Vu trailer looks better than I thought it would. I guess I was basically expecting Timecop 2 but that doesn't really seem like the way Scott is playing it.
Haven't watched Grind House yet. Trying to work up even enough interest to bother. In due time, I guess.
Surprised by the Grind House trailer. Film actually seems to follow through on what it promises. Looks very well-made i.e. looks really crappily made, but in a tongue-in-cheek non-serious 'fun' way. Which at the same time is what I hate about this reversed high-art-slumming Tarantino & Co are engaged in. If Del Toro can make films like Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth, why can't they? Tarantino, at least, can do better. We'll see this, giggle, then what? Stupid.
But still, I couldn't help myself, the trailer was fun. And was that cheering supposed to be there? If it was, I'm electing this one of the best trailers of the year.
Deja Vu looks fun in a 'I'm-gonna-love-deconstructing- this-crap-after-I'm-done-watching- the-explosions'-way.
Pretty much my thoughts, as well, except for perhaps the "see this" part. At the moment I'm feeling somewhat hostile to it ... skepticism of anthologies in general, mixed with residual memories of Four Rooms specifically.
Rodriguez definately knows how to cut a trailer. No matter how many times I get burned by the guy, he still manages to get my business opening weekend.
Rose McGowan looks amazing. Good to see Michael Biehn again. Love the Danny Trejo/"Machete" fake-promo bit...
Anyway, I'm sure Rogriguez's half of the movie will be just as awful as anything he's produced in the past decade, but I can't break the cycle.

Turns out the GH video was Comic Con footage. Still think it would make a cool kind of different trailer, especially if they ran it in cinemas.
And the Danny Trejo mini-gun on a motorcycle-bit sold it to me, as well. That plus the dirty 70s-look and the crazy twins.
Despite all that (maybe because of it) it'll still be a waste of time.
