Only My 3rd Heroes Post

by Count Olaf
So, in my quest to prove I have diverse interests, here is my 3rd consecutive post about one topic....

I've decided to get in on the youtube "fun" and create my own video. If you remember the 80's, you'll probably remember the song. If you don't watch Heroes, well, you might not appreciate it.

Cheers!

Me and my buddy started watching the show this week, and are now totally hooked (my buddy is actually starting to scare me a little, doesn't talk about much else).

Anyway, loved the video man, laughed loudly at some of the stuff. Good choice of music (my buddy claims he thought of it before seeing the vid, though). Hiro is already something of a classic tv character. The guy playing him is doing a pretty amazing job.

On a sidenote, a cool thing about the show that someone should have started doing a long time ago, is having the subtitles be alongside the characters speaking them. Somehow gives what they're saying a little more life.

I think it's a great show. Didn't want to commit to another show, but, believe it or not, my Mom talked me into it. Hiro is wonderful. I loved his reaction to finding out he has a sword in the future. I was worried he would become a caricature, but I really care about the guy. And what a line..."save the cheerleader, save the world." Great stuff, and fun stuff, to boot.

For some reason, the video froze. I will give it another try, because I was loving it so far...

I had the idea for awhile and one day decided I wanted to do it before anyone else did. It's funny because on Monday someone in the AICN forums asked why no one had done a video to that song and then he found my video an hour later.

Thanks to both of you for enjoying it! (and i hope it works for you Lora)

Hey, close to a thousand views on youtube. Nice.

Dug last night's episode. Not much happened, but there were some nice character moments. But I don't quite understand what the deal with the poker-game was, story-wise. S ometimes feels like the writers are going a bit too far to tie all the characters together.

The thing I took from the poker game scene (once it was tied together at the end of the show) is that Hiro's power won't work on someone else with "special abilities." And I really liked his reaction to not being able to save everyone.

Still no luck, Olaf. Once Hiro says he's from the future, it freezes. I even tried going out to YouTube and linking from there. I'm going to try again when I'm at my friend's house. Can't try at work, they're very fussy about the whole internet thing.

I was a little confused about the poker game as well. I thought about it for a little bit and figured that since the Cowboy knew the boys were cheating he wanted them to come along to either: a) help him win some more money thereby giving him reason to kill them, b) have the boys win more money and therefore give reason to kill them, c)I really have no idea. Obviously they're out $2mil from Nikki 6 months ago (title of a future episode I'm told) but I don't know if they're trying to pay Linderman back or what...

And as far as Hiro goes, my take is he was too afraid to go through with his time-freeze. Especially since his buddy was talking to him at the time. I think stopping the nuclear attack was more of a knee-jerk reaction as opposed to a "I'm gonna save the world" thing. Here it had to be calculated and purposeful, but it was a scary situation and Ando was talking him out of it.
